In astonishing turn of events yesterday... the Douglas Plot was prevented from being carried out. The man that our nation had given up on had finally returned from the shadows with a army of 1000 men. The Queen was rescued and all was to be right again.  Not only that but in a single speech he told the nation that he will not allow a state of anarchy to remain beyond that same day....and sure enough the Nation of Lewis and Harris is now a Monarchy once again. The papers have praised him, the public have cheered his name... yet Our Queen remains silent. We have not heard any news or word from her since her last letter before the rebellion was put down. There was rumour that she was taken ill... but this is not yet confirmed.

The last letter from Her Grace has been a very expressive depiction of her inner feelings... She openly confessed her love for The earl of York and she seemed to address him as if he were her saviour. - as seen in a quote from her letter.

You said you would not leave me here... you have left me and I fear you shall never return. I am a lost helpless ghost without you. Meriwether  I love you. I have always loved you.... "  -

Due to the Lords cold temperament it is not surprising that he has not acknowledged  those helpless pleas and that touching confession of love.... It  would be depressing at most to think that his statement describing the queens immaturity should be his response-

Your Queen on the other hand prefers to entertain her notions of fairy tales and romantic childish fantasy.... I have no time for her world of make believe.

These cold words do not suggest the he has any mutual feelings towards her. Of course this is all speculation...  yet it seems sad that the Queen speaks with such warmth towards the future king..... whereas he himself speaks so harshly...

"Your Queen will do as I command.. I will tell  her what I wish for her to do and she will obey me.... "

The man seems demanding, unfeeling and almost tyrannical when he speaks like this... Many advisors have already voiced there opinion on what they think of the Earl.... One advisor in particular who did not wished to be named has given her account of  how Lord Meriwether treats the Queen.... within the castle walls.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"His lordship is a stern man who hardly shows her any affection... when they do talk it is as if the conversation were between two complete strangers... he is serious and polite n manner and she is shy and reluctant. She once confided in me that she was afraid of embarrassing herself in his presence.... and  I do indeed see that he does make efforts to seem more intimidating  around her as if he was content at her discomfort.... he can be quick with her and end the conversation before it has begun.... For days he does not speak with her... as his personal affairs take him outside the castle. She is alone most of the time and I have noticed since his lordships arrival that a depression of low spirits has overcome her. He only stays briefly at the castle for state talks and for the official courtship "meetings".... Then he goes off and does not return or send message for days.... He treats her like a child.... as if she does not know how to rule a country and as if she does not know anything much. I once overheard a conversation they were having.... he said "Your leadership is pathetic... simply go back to the kitchens and bake another cake.. that is what you seem to be good at".... What kind of man says such things... he is rude and unsociable.... and does not treat the Queen with any fondness.

I feel the only reason he has chosen to marry her is due to the granted position of future king... The Queen refuses to believe such things...She has given her heart to this man..... he doesn't care for it....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this is true it would be very tragic indeed. In the meantime we will wait to see if the Queen is officially reported to be taken ill.

Sounds like a bastard. The Queen may have not have made the smartest decisions regarding her rule, declaring an anarchy, but this is just cruel.
