Popular Post Saru Posted September 8, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted September 8, 2015 Announcement from UPN & Friends I would like to announce that the United Purple Nations from this day forth will be in partnership with The Evenstar Empire, Vargen Institution, Trident, Odd Squad, Praeteritum and Socialist Workers Front. All of whom will be signatories of our new protectorate bloc. UPN will be assuming responsibility for the security of these alliances, and each signatory of the pact has agreed to aid one another in times of unreasonable aggression. We come together to fortify and secure our mutual interests. SALUS (Latin: salus, "safety", "salvation", "welfare") Preamble In the interests of mutual security and collegial friendship, the undersigned alliances hereby enter into this protectorate bloc pact. By signing this document, all the signatory alliances agree to the articles stated below and enter into this agreement with full knowledge of its contents. Article I: Sovereignty All alliances remain sovereign entities. This pact by no means restricts their freedom to conduct their own affairs and only applies the terms of the obligations which they freely agree to in signing this treaty. Article II: Peace & Respect Members of the signatory alliances agree to not engage in military action under any circumstances. Signatories also agree to resolve any and all disputes in a private setting and in a respectful manner becoming of allies. Article III: Protection and Defense i) The protector is obligated to provide military assistance to the best of their ability if a signatory is attacked without provocation. Signatories are expected to come to the military aid of any other signatory upon request, in the event that they are aggressively attacked by outside forces. An attack on any of the undersigned protectorates will be considered as an attack on UPN and all of the signatories. ii) In the case where the protector is attacked, the protectorates are encouraged but not required to defend. Article IV: Optional Aggression Signatories of this pact retain the option to assist any other signatory (including the protector) with offensive military action, if they so choose. This must be cleared with the protectors first. Offensive military action is not required, but alliances are encouraged to support their partners to the best of their abilities. Article V: War and Treaty Signing Signatories agree to inform UPN of possible military action on an alliance wide scale in advance. Protectorates agree to not declare war on another alliance without first discussing it with UPN, otherwise they forfeit their protection rights. The undersigned protectorates should also discuss and seek advice of the protector before signing new treaties of levels MDP and above. Article VI: Addition of New Members UPN retain the sole right to add new members to the bloc, however agree to first discuss this with the other signatories and make sure that they act in everyone’s best interests. Article VII: Termination of Membership Any alliances are free to state their intention to leave the pact at any time, and consequently be free of their terms and obligations after the period of 72 hours of notice is up. UPN also reserve the right to terminate the membership of any signatory, but agree to provide at least 48 hours of notice. Membership can be automatically voided without notice if particular terms are not met.
