The United States has sent Soviet ambassador.

 

(OOC: You mean you sent an ambassador to the Vienna meeting, or you sent for the Soviet Ambassador to meet with Truman? )

 

 

Truman has planned the meeting. He is bringing a large group of officials, including the Vice President, the speaker of the house, and several members of the cabinet. William Harriman has volunteered to stay behind, as is customary to ensure there is a clear line of succession in the case of any... Incidents.

 

The Soviet ambassador would set off for the meeting, along with a couple of guards.

Agent 69 flew into the Oval Office. "Mr. President," he called, "I have important information-" Truman cut him off. "Well it can wait! I do not have time to waste listening to your tales of failure! I have given you one assignment and you have done nothing!" Truman grinned. It felt good to finally stand up to this man. Agent 69 sighed. If only Truman knew why he hadn't killed Foster yet. "Very well, Mr. President, I will wait here." He sat down in the chair he knew was Truman's favorite. The president bit his lip. "Good, now if you'll excuse me I have some communists to negotiate with." As the door closed behind the president, Agent 69 removed his sniper rifle from his back and prepared it for use. As always, he had waited until the last minute to choose a side, but now it looked like the decision had made itself. It was time for action.

"And by all means Johnson, you are correct. I don't know what Mister Truman is thinking, but let's leave the offer on the table there. The Legislature agrees as well." said Prime Minister Eric as well, in a slightly more cheerful voice.

 

"Right you are Mister Prime Minister." Johnson said, before falling silent.

The door opened, and the man known only to the Prime Minister as The Agent came in.

 

"Sir. As you very well know, the last Prime Minister was assassinated. You have chosen to continue almost all of his policies, which is a good choice indeed, for the country. However, there is one policy that you may not know about yet."

 

Laughing, the Prime Minister said: "What? That nuclear defense system and the militarization policy? You have got to be kidding me... I sat through a 5 hour meeting on that this morning. Nearly fell asleep."

 

"How about the secret nuclear bomb project?" The Agent provides the Prime Minister with a quick description of the project.

 

Sighing, the Prime Minister said..."Fine then. Let it continue, but in secret okay? It's been a pleasure today, Agent."

 

Sorry for the kinda bad story, I was rushed today.

The Government of Canada sends food, aid and medical care to the people of Malta who have been devastated by World War Two, and seeks friendly relations - sending some soldiers to guard Malta as well.

 

The citizens of Malta rejoice at the opening of their embassy in Canada and the opening of the Canadian embassy in Malta. In order to help expedite the safety and security of Malta, the citizens and remaining Maltese armed forces have worked tirelessly to help clear land for the arriving Canadian armed forces. The area will include several hundred arces along the coast to allow for the building of a base that will include barracks, an airstrip and dock with several piers. Once the Canadian armed forces are settled an in place, the Maltese government would like to ask the Ambassador if their military engineers could assist our local engineers with the the rebuilding of our infrastructure, mainly the roadways and the removal of war debris. Also inline with the military cooperation, we as the host nation, would like to conduct joint military operations to include, land, sea and air warfare areas in efforts to help both our forces be able to operate as seemlessly together as possible.

The meeting with the Soviets was of great fanfare. Crowds waited outside, doing everything from protesting to celebrating. Down the street, the police blocked off an especially rowdy group. Truman stood in the center, flanked by numerous members of his cabinet. As he stepped down to shake the Soviet ambassador's hand, a single shot rang out. The president fell to the ground and commotion ensued.

(OOC: Its out of habit, really. In most of the other rp communities I've been in, most people use things like "would happen" to make it more clear that you're allowing your actions to be interrupted if the other parties want. So, for example, one person in Russia would say "The nuke would launched at London," so the person in England can say "But the English missile defenses shot it down." On the other hand, if the dude in Russia just says "A nuke hit london," its just annoying to respond to.

 

Anyhow, its really irrelevant, as that's just what people do in a totally different rp. I'm just doing it out of habit )

 

As soon as the shooting started, the Soviet guards pulled out their guns and open fire on the other high ranking US officials in the area, as well as any American guards. Of course, in the chaos, it would no doubt be hard to tell who was and who wasn't a high ranking official, hence, odds were, that a good number of innocent bystanders would be stopping bullets as well.

It rejects Brazil's deal, Harriman has adopted a very popular policy of refusing to sell military equipment to other nations in order to prevent conflict in a world that is desperate for peace. It does, however, offer to establish embassies in Malta (I may have already done that), Brazil, and Canada. In an odd measure, Harriman has pardoned the Soviet guards and allowed them to return home. He would also like to continue the work to strengthen ties between the U.S. and the Soviet Union, recognizing that this was the act of a few deranged individuals who somehow were given a position that involved being armed while inside the White House.

The government of Canada gratefully thanks the USA for the increase in positive relations. New embassies open up the United States.

 

Canada sends engineers, nurses, construction workers, chefs, to help the Maltans, and accepts Malta's idea of a military training exercise.

 

The idea is that Malta would start by holding a exercise in Malta which would concentrate on work inside cities, rubble, helping citizens, etc. The military part would be training but the cleaning up and helping parts would actually help Maltan citizens recover. After that, Canadian ships and Maltan ships would head west, then north through the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, allowing them to practice sailing, shooting, turning in all climates and ocean depths, etc. Finally, the ships would arrive in Canada for the Last Frontier Training Exercise - a training exercise in the cities of Canada, the forests, the mountains, the tundra and the frozen Arctic as Canada has some of the world's most varied terrain and climate.

Malta authorizes and gives permission for the U.S. to build their Embassy and provides them with the same leased land terms that were giving to the Canadians for a forward deployed military base....a hardor with docks, an airstrip and barracks for troops/marines. Malta would also like to discuss the possibility of holding joint military exercises both here in Malta and over in the U.S. With our ties to Canada, Malta would also like to host a multinational military exercise to include the Canadians, the U.S. and Maltese forces in all warfare areas in the coming years.

 

In other news, the Maltese Minister of the Arts and Cultural Development would like to enter into talks with the various studio heads from Hollywood with the idea of using Malta as location for the filming future war and/or desert movies. We would like to offer a 25% off incentive for film crews to film here in Malta and an additional 2% (for a total of 27%) if Malta is used as Malta and listed in the movies credits.

 

Also, our Minister of Education and her staff would like to enter into discussions with some of the top colleges/universities of the various academic disiplines to include engineering, the arts, the sciences, medicine and law within the U.S. and Canada so that we may develop a world class education system of our own.

 

EDIT: Yes the Maltese military agrees to and looks forward to our joint training exercises with fhe Canadians.
