Administrators Alex Posted March 20, 2018 Administrators Share Posted March 20, 2018 I'm looking to add a lot of new National Projects to the game to increase diversity, specialization, and dynamism in-game (while giving larger nations more to do and more options to pick from.) So expect a lot of posts like these. Initially I'd just like to get feedback on the ideas and proposals for number tweaks. Name: Military Scrapyard Description: A national junkyard and recycling center for reusing decommissioned military units. What it does: Returns 100% of resources used (not money) when decommissioning military units. Proposed Cost: 5,000 Gasoline & $20,000,000 --- Now, please offer your thoughts. Numbers could be tweaked, as well as project cost. 5 Quote Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Ask About It | Got a good idea? Spaceman Thrax
The money is virtually a non-factor, proportionally speaking. So returning 100% resources seems like a bad idea to me... game already has issues with inflating/deflating NS being too easy, imo, so making it totally costless to do so isn't going to help. If you twisted my arm maybe 80%, I'd think. Edited March 20, 2018 by Spaceman Thrax Quote Slaughter the shits of the world. They poison the air you breathe. ~ William S. My thinking is that it makes resources more abundant, and thus cheaper. 1 Quote Is there a bug? Report It | Not understanding game mechanics? Ask About It | Got a good idea? Resources being abundant isn't a bad thing, but I still think it just can't be 100%, because then I, a 25 city nation, could sell off literally all of my troops, downdeclare on some 10-15 or so city people, rebuy, and have a really good chance of still trouncing them, with no real cost. So 80% is low but I wouldn't think of exceeding 85-90%. I mean even at 85%, you're getting 40% of what you otherwise would have spent back... still probably worth a slot. Buorhann
This is actually a good project idea, but I can see where Manthrax is coming from. People in the higher city areas of the game will most definitely get this project, even if it's just to fill a completely useless open slot. So it'll eventually see some use from those players. Players similar to me will set it as a top priority. Quote Warrior of Dio https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfPCFQfOnLg

Edward I
You could also nerf selling units to only return 60% of the initial cost and keep the project at 80%, per Manthrax's suggestion.
