The word Anarchy is often misused and misunderstood. Anarchism is a political theory that holds all government authority to be unnecessary and undesirable and advocates a society based on voluntary cooperation and free association of individuals and groups in order to satisfy their needs. Due to the threat this imposes upon established authority, "Anarchism" has been, and is still, misused by power holders as violence and chaos.

Anarchism does not mean death and destruction. It means you should be free; that no one should enslave you, boss you, rob you, or impose upon you. It means you should be free to do the things you want to do; and that you should not be compelled to do what you do not want to do.

True anarchists believe that governments will inherently begin to exploit the people it wishes to protect. The idea is that because governments and those who run the government have power that is not granted to the rest of society, those who have power will use it to exploit and corrupt others. Anarchists do not promote a system that is lawless, but a system in which all people are equal and decisions are made by all individuals involved and not just by those in power.

Freedom. Sovereignty. Equality. Solidarity.

Whew boy, another commie alliance.

Inb4 IQ signing

Signing with IQ (or any alliance) would require us to make obligations, which would require us to somehow force members to uphold those obligations, which would be against everything Black Flag stands for. So no.

Arrgh 2.0?

I figured this question would come out.

Arrgh, while very similar, are not a true anarchy in the sense that they do have a government. Said government does have the power to police and enforce rules as they see fit. Now, there is no DNR at the moment and for the most part members are allowed complete freedom, but there is still that chance that at any time Ripper (or whoever Grand Admiral is at the time) could step in and put rules or laws into place the membership would be expected to follow.

Arrgh also promotes raiding/war as their way of life. Black Flag doesn't. Black Flag recognizes that in some instances resource production and trading or econ/commerce can be more profitable. Now don't get me wrong, I personally find raiding fun and extremely profitable for me, such may not be the case for future members. Black Flag is complete freedom and sovereignty of ones individual nation.

Well, it's not like we get members and we make them raid. People join because they want to raid. Besides, there is no other way to grow in Arrgh.

Right. Wasn't meaning it as a negative thing, just trying to correct the thought that Black Flag is Arrgh 2.0.
