 Orbit of Orbis...

In the days that followed the return of the Akaatan Imperium to Orbis III, the fleet remained in orbit, prepared for the upcoming battle with the Ethereals. However, many of the members of the crews believed that the attack wouldn't come to pass. However, little did they know that the fleet was right upon them. Early in the day, there were reports of unknown ships entering the system, but it was believed that they were simply ships that had made mistakes in their courses, However, a few hours later, it quickly became apparent that these ships were not of natives to the region, but something far, far worse. Before them was what could only be described as a "wall" of ships, each no more than a few meters in length. Behind those ships could be seen much larger ships of at least 500 meters in length, which were presumably where the smaller ships were coming from. Immediately, the admiral in charge of the Akaatan fleet ordered for every man to get to their stations, as a long fight was about to commence...

The company had prepared for such a day for quite some time, and its fleet stayed gathered near the moon, covered in various defenses from missiles to kinetic and energy based weaponry, along with electronic warfare equipment to manipulate the space around the lunar colonies and the along with the lagrangian point stations, refueling depots, shipyards, and defensive platforms.  The three space elevators along with a network of satellites held shielding arrays for the entire planet, using a new method of power supply.

An experimental new material, using the entirety of the company's knowledge to bring together a number of subjects together, allowed the company to ignore the basic laws of batteries that humanity had believed in up until that point. At just over 500 meters in length and about as large around as a liquid trailer one would see on the highway, the new metal was capable of storing what amounted to unlimited energy from this planet's global power generation needs. These new Shapash Cells combined with thermal and fusion power meant it was possible to contain the power nearing that of a sun, if given enough time to charge. Of course that was difficult with the technology on this planet, but there was always other worlds.

For several hours, the two fleets would fight, one attempting to reach the planet's surface, the other to prevent the extinction of all life on Orbis. However, for each ship the Akaata destroyed, many more would make it through. At first, their target was unknown, but within a few minutes, it became apparent that their target was, in fact, the Infinity gate built so long ago and only rebuilt a few decades (about 1200 years for the Akaata) ago by a race all but forgotten...
Aboard the Akaatan flagship, Admiral Icena was planning his next move. He knew that he could not simply bombard the planet's surface like he could with other worlds, yet it seemed that he had no other choice. If the Ethereals were not attacked from Orbit, they would simply continue their assault until they had wiped out all life on the planet.
"Sir, I believe we still have a fighting chance." an officer would say.
"Well, we are out of any other option, so speak." Admiral Icena would reply as he continued to contemplate his next move.
"Admiral, have you heard of Protocol 7713-A?" the officer would ask.
"You mean the APEX Protocol? Even if we were permitted, which by the way we are not, we do not have enough details on it as is." Icena would say, almost dismissing the officer's idea.
"That is where you are wrong, sir. I have found the file on it, but I am afraid that it has suffered severe corruption over the years." the officer would say.
"Well, show it, and try to fix it." Icena would order, and the officer, who did not wish to be removed from duty, did as he was ordered. He proceeded to activate the file, and a small hologram would appear before them, one that displayed the now legendary Grand Moff Vaiken.
"Attention to whoever sees this message. If you are hearing this message, then war between the Akaata and the Ethereals has come. This message comes with the key to the final destruction of our foes. We found these portals a few decades ago throughout the multiverse, however, we do not know where exactly they came from. All we know is that they are of extreme power, one which must be hidden away until the time has come. That time is now. Inside this message is the code to activate the APEX Protocol, which will activate the portals, unleashing a storm unlike any seen before or since, one that will wipe out the Ethereals forever. I do not have the time to explain everything about it to you, nor do you likely have the time to listen, so I will make it short. The access code will follow now: 7732091A93XPR070C01AC71VA73DB377. Once you have entered this code, it will require an immediate voice recognition test and blood test. Upon that, you will say "Activate APEX Protocol, clearance level Alpha-gamma-01". With that, the APEX Protocol will be active, and the Ethereals will be nothing but a memory." the hologram would say before cutting off.
"Well, time to get to work then." Admiral Icena would say before walking over to a console. "Alright, I am sending in the code..." he would say before giving the code. He would then proceed to do the blood test to help confirm his identity before preforming the Voice-recognition test. "Name: Icena, Gideon H. Rank: Rear Admiral" he would say before finishing with "Activate APEX Protocol, clearance level Alpha-gamma-01.". Suddenly, a massive burst of energy emerged from what the natives called Germany before enveloping the entire planet, causing major blackouts across the planet. Thankfully, no one died from the actual energy burst, at least, no one save for the Ethereals (who had already begun to enter many cities). After the Ethereals on the planet had been wiped out, the burst of energy dissipated, but the storm had only just begun (in a literal sense, mind you). With that, the story of Akaatan involvement in Orbisian affairs comes to a close, at least, for the time being it has...

*The regime would fire upon any and all ships no matter who they belonged to that entered it's airspace or it's satellite regions. The RSS would fire it's artillery and the T-Spheres would move any missiles that would hit a regime asset and send them flying aimlessly away*

However, unbeknownst to the Regime, the Akaatan fleet had already made it out safely, so instead of hitting the Akaatan ships, they only hit the former Ethereal ships, thus creating a ring around the planet...
