[Timeline and Important Events]

most notable the 1994 New Haven Bombings which killed 204 People, others including the Bordeaux Bus Bombing of 1993, The Night of Fires where thousands of homes and government officers were burnt in F.C., the November Day Uprising which saw the FRA regain control in F.C. Before the Laurentian Army regained control.

Following the 1990 Flemish Civil War, a paramilitary group, the Flemish Republican Army began a series of Border attacks against Laurentian Border Police. Mounting death tolls forced Laurentian Special Forces to begin search and destroy missions against the FRA.

In 1993, the FRA became a rebellious group inside Laurentia. In the ethnic minority's province of Flemish Columbia, the FRA led a deadly campaign of violence against the ethnic Laurentians. The Night of Fires saw thousands of homes and government buildings burnt in F.C., the November Day Uprising then saw the FRA gain control in F.C. before Laurentian Troops recaptured the province. Displacing Hundreds and killing various politicians and civilians the Laurentian Armed Forces launched Opération décapitation.  The Operation involved 35,000 Troops, hundreds of planes and tanks in pushing the FRA out and re-stabilizing the province. The FRA was quickly defeated before the group returned to an insurgency force. The FRA launched the 1993 Bordeaux Bus Bombings that killed 38 people and injured 164.

In 1994, The FRA detonated a twin explosion inside the financial hub of Marseille killing 204 and injuring 103.

By 1996, the FRA has been removed and defeated in F.C. The Laurentian Army relied on mobile units as well as removing the fundamental ideals of secession by both removing secessionist leaders, but also began to pay closer attention to the needs of the people. The Army Engineering Division and Medical Corps began to set up advance clinics and educational facilities. They also began to support the local border police which had often been neglected by the Laurentian Government, and they more importantly put an emphasis on “hearts and minds”. Laurentian General Eichgraf coined the term during the 1996 Defense Hearings in Paris. “We plan to win the hearts and minds of our long forgotten brothers in Flanders, both with rebuilding but ensuring that once we leave they are content with the standards of living and feel attached to the republic”. The plan worked, and in 2001 when Laurentian Troops ceased opération décapitation and handed control back to local police.

In 2005, Laurentia and its allies launched Operation Sabre, the quick air campaign devastated the Flemish Government. The Laurentian Backed Flemish Defense Forces seized the capital of Vale Heights later that month.

With the FDF in control, the Laurentian Military began to both diminish FRA influence and rebuild the Flemish Infrastructure long forgotten in the fifteen years of conflict. Over 642 Billion Francs would be spent rebuilding the infrastructure of Flanders. An additional 304 Billion Francs would be spent rebuilding the new Armed Forces of Flanders.

In late 2017, Laurentia launched Operation Chammal, devastating the FRA and Flemish Forces. The Flemish Republic was overthrown by the Laurentian Backed Flemish Defense Force. Prime Minister Semir Makitalo with the Laurentian DGSE and Flemish Groupe de renseignement secret (GRS) arrested and captured FRA Leaders in the FRP [Flemish Republican Party]. With Chammal ending the official campaign, Laurentian Ground and Aerial Forces remain to crack down on the insurgency and assist the Flemish Defense Force and Flemish Armed Forces in maintain control and end the FRA.

Lieutenant Sarah Valle, 2e Compagnie de Combat (2e Cie)

Our Company was located in the city of Laugarvík some 25 km from the Capital. While the FRA was devastated, they remained a persistent threat. The 2e RIMa was deployed across a 25km stretch surrounding Vale Heights. With Vale Heights secured, our objectives were to control the towns of Alskov, Elsted, Sastajoki, Paruu and Laugarvík. Each Company was deployed to a town, where we established our COP [Combat Outpost]. The abandoned Police precinct provided a concrete protection from small-arms and protected us from an initial mortar strike. The FRA had been able to acquire Mortars, Artillery, Weapons, and a collection of explosives. To make matters worse, the FRA was able to disguise themselves inside the Flemish Army, making joint-operations much harder. Already tired from our month-long engagement, we were yet to be relieved. The 2e RIMa deployed earlier in November, shortly before the 27e Brigade d’Infanterie de Montagne joined a week after we secured Vale Heights.

Both Laurentia and Flanders hold a close ethical and cultural heritage, while Flemish-French is a different dialect, both dialects stayed truthful to the French language. The culture was very important to both sides, the slightest of disrespect creates disunity between Laurentian and Flemish troops and leadership.

While most villagers and townsmen inside Laugarvík were honest working men and women, outside the “Marine Wall” laid an endless network of FRA Cells and operation centers, out there only the JW GORM [Laurentian Special Forces] and Mountain Troops from the 27e launched search and destroy missions.

The COP was fortified by a sand barrier to protect the percent windows and provide secure firing positions, while barbed wire and sandbags created defensive Machine Gun nests. Because the Precinct was located some 2000 meters from the Town center, it was quite easy to be attacked. To ensure no vehicle laced with explosives hit the checkpoints, we placed warning signs and bright stop lights to stop anyone who moved rapidly to the checkpoint.

We totaled 250 troops, alongside some 50 Flemish Troops, we had a standing 300 active-force in this town.

At night, the sound of gunfire erupted sporadically, radio chatter indicated a group of militants attacked a patrol from the 27e. A thunderous explosion was heard before smoke from a field not far from our position burst with flames and smoke. A Laurentian A-10 and Rafale could be seen returning back to Vale Heights. The chatter ended, and helicopters were deployed to the field to MEDIVAC injured soldiers.

Prime Minister Korczak, of the Republic of Laurentia

After speaking to the Ambassadors of Wintery and Britannia earlier today, Laurentia has activated it’s Mutual Defense Pact with both nations. In response to the Paris Attacks in 2017, and the FRA sponsored chemical attacks earlier in 2017, Laurentia has deemed the FRA a threat that must and shall be contained. Escalating violence from Operation Chammal has resulted in over 4,523 Civilian deaths since August. At least 300 Coalition Troops have been killed, and 64 injured.

As we speak, Wintery and Britannia leaders have begun to deploy active combat troops and pilots to assist the Flemish Government in their war to destroy and dissolve the FRA. Speaking with Prime Minister Semir Makitalo, we have concluded that it is imperative for the Flemish Armed Forces to regain control of Eastern Flanders and being efforts to rebuild.

To those who threaten our republic, and those who undermine our democracy and liberty the price of such actions will be high and dear. The Laurentian Military will be strengthened by support from our closest of allies, and together we shall forge a new path for the people of Flanders, and safeguard Laurentia from all future attacks from the FRA.

  • 4 weeks later...

The New World Order Alliance launched a devastating series of attacks the past 3 months on the Allied Coalition inside Flanders. The destructive series of attacks have caused an entire collapse of the Eastern border between the Laurentian-Backed Flemish Government Forces and NWOA-Backed Flemish Republican Army.

The 3 month offensive by the NWOA has resulted in the deaths of 24 Wintery Soldiers, 31 Laurentian Soldiers, 3 Laurentian Airmen, 14 Britannia Airmen, and 63 Flemish Soldiers. An attack on an allied airbase in the capital of Vale Heights also resulted in 12 Laurentian Mirages destroyed, and 3 Britannia bombers destroyed with another bomber knocked out of use.

Government Spokesman for the Flemish Government said the attacks saw the FRA regain territory lost in one year of conflict. The Government blamed the General of The Flemish Third Rear Guard for failing to comply with Strategic Command and withdrawing from combat zone triremes. Britannia and Laurentian Government Officials responded with a series of strategic bombings and airstrikes on FRA positions. Laurentian Commander Kruger of EURCOM said the attacks proved a vital flaw in the Strategic Command, multi-level defenses, and competent command structure. Laurentia’s Defense Attaché to Flanders spoke with President Makitalo to firstly ensure the FRA does not capture the Marine Line, a series of towns on the outline of Vale Heights protected by the Laurentian Troupe de Marine. After which, organizing a counter-attack against the FRA and their Allied NWOA.

Laurentian Chef d'État-Major des Armées spoke to the Laurentian news broadcasted Laurentian Vingt-Quartre citing that, “The lack of communication between the Flemish Military and experience of multi-level defense capabilities were a major factor. However, the Flemish Army was supported by Wintery, Laurentia, and Britannia to simply blame Flanders for being unable to defend is wrong. The NWOA were heavily armed, had aerial elements, and armored vehicles that punched holes in key cross points encircling the 17th Marine Regiment and Wintery’s Military Engineering Corp in which Laurentian and Wintery troops held off waves of NWOA armored vehicles until they were extracted. Across the entire front, similar events left hundreds of thousands of troops from all member states encircled and in need of extraction. Lastly, the entire operation was hindered by FRA infiltrated who attacked the Vale Heights airbase, causing both confusions, but more importantly the inability to launch airstrikes on advancing NWOA troops.”

Laurentian Chef d'État-Major des Armées met with his counterparts in Britannia and Wintery to propose a troop surge and higher involvement to combat the New World Order Alliance, or now called Scorpio.

Laurentia’s CEMA proposed a 25% troop presence, airpower, and naval ships to combat the Scorpio. With Laurentia’s already 12,000 troops expected to reach 15,000 the CEMA is looking towards Laurentia’s partners in Asia and North America to pick up the bill and play a greater role in combating Scorpio.

Laurentia’s intervention began almost eight months ago, battling the Flemish Republican Army and their Flemish Republican supporters. Within weeks, the capital Vale Heights and Flemish Government were captured. The new Flemish Government and Defense Force backed by Laurentia fought the FRA into a standstill, with the urban portion of Flanders under Government control and rural communities far west and south under the control of the militants. Laurentia had activated its Mutual Defense Pacts with Wintery and Britannia, bringing fresh equipment, troops, and airplanes to support the Flemish Government. After three months of hard fighting, the FRA had been reduced to controlling nothing, and back to a roaming rebellious group.

Reinforced by the Anti-Hungadada Movement and other groups, the New World Order Alliance or Scorpio launched a devastating counter attack against coalition troops and by mid-morning coalition losses numbered the hundreds with extensive damage to aerial capabilities.
