Fukuda Kazuma
Hello everyone, my name is Nagisa Shiota and we're back here with the sixth volume of The Gothenburg Post! And of course I'll be reporting about something that's pretty much a normality for the confederation: Expansion~ After several weeks of conquest, colonization and business deals with other nations, the confederation has gained over 130,000^ kilometers of land in the Baltic and Eastern Europe. We have also co-operated with the Federal Empire of Nihon with a land purchase worth 16M Krona. Many debates have been going on about whether to incorporate the newly acquired land into an additional state, with it's capital in Riga. But for now, it may be a possibility. The new land acquired. If granted statehood, it may be called the Baltic State In another part of Europe as well, the Confederation has also managed to acquire the state of Northern Ireland in the British Isles. For now, it will be a colony of Sweden despite it's close proximity to the Mainland. A Governor is to be elected in the near future, and this will be the first time the Swedish flag will be raised in this part of the continent. More big news in the Asia Pacific region Hong Kong has now been reinstated as a colony of the Confederation. Despite attempts at independence. After losing former colonies to other nations, such as Singapore, the confederation has been determined to regain it's position as a trading power in the Orient. However, with the loss of Singapore, there is much doubt that Swedish influence in the area will be as great as before. In a diplomatic sector, the confederation of Sweden has been in several talks with the Federal Empire of Nihon, it's neighbour to the East. After purchasing significant amounts of land in Russia and Eastern Europe, many have desired to further diplomatic ties between the two. Finally, on a visit to Kyoto (located in RL Moscow), King Zafri Zackery met with Emperor Han Young Kee of Nihon to sign the Gothenburg-Kyoto Treaty, a Mutual Defense and Optional Aggression Pact between the two nations Citizens of both sides have had many positive views about the signing of this treaty, as it will provide better security cooperation in the region. With it's first treaty signed since the restoration, many people are looking forward to more of them with nations not only in the region, but on a global scale as well. For now, the confederation is currently open to diplomatic ties with any nation who are interested. So that is all for tonight folks, thank you and we'll see you next time! Cheonsa
Ah, it's good to see my old friend Zafri well and getting his nation stronger. Perhaps you would like a treaty with Nihon's eastern friend? A mutual defence pact between you and yours truly would only serve to cement our friendship and bring prosperity to out two peoples.
