Today millions of Brazilian citizens have gone out to the polls in locations across Brazil in order to cast their votes in Parliamentary elections.

The polling stations opened early in the morning at around 5:30 an GMT.The National Electoral Committee recorded a generally low turnout percentage, however many more persons voted this year than in other previous elections, the Committee also reported a largely peaceful process as violence between voters was minimal. Most of the polling stations closed exactly at 7 p.m GMT, however polling stations in larger cities such as Nova Cascais and Forte de Felix remained open until 7:45 pm GMT.

Several parties contested for Parliamentary seats, and most political analysts expected a landslide CND (Congresso Nacional Democrata) victory, however they were wrong. At exactly 2:14 an GMT, the chairman of the National Electoral Committee announced that the results were heavily in favour of the far right PCNDB candidate Sebastião Abreu, and at 2:30 am,this proved to be true when it was announced that the PCNDB had won with over 270 out of the 510 seats in Parliament, giving the recent party an edge in Parliament. As a result of this outcome,Sebastiaõ Abreu will be installed as President and he will appoint the Chancellor and Opposition Leader, the latter of which is expected to be Antonio Vargas, the leader of the CND.

Hegemon Nikolaos Metaxas announces his congratulations for the victory of the far-right candidate, Sebastião Abreu and hopes that others in Europe and South America will follow this example.

"Your cattle will die, your friends will die, you will die. But your reputation, if it is good, will never die."  -excerpt from the Havamal

"We are born into this time and must bravely follow the path to the destined end. There is no other way. Our duty is to hold on to the lost position, without hope, without rescue, like that Roman soldier whose bones were found in front of a door in Pompeii, who, during the eruption of Vesuvius, died at his post because they forgot to relieve him. That is greatness. That is what it means to be a thoroughbred. The honorable end is the one thing that can not be taken from a man."  -Oswald Spengler
