INFORMATION AND HISTORY

 

The United Rekish Empire is a nation currently consisting of eleven provinces. In many ways, the nation acts as a confederation, as many of the nations have their own provincial constitutions, governments, laws, etc. However, each province bows to the Federal Government. The Federal Government controls major military actions, alliances, trade agreements, and other such matters. The provinces are able to overturn Federal Law, as long is it only affects their own province. For example, if the Federal Government states that marijuana is illegal, the province of Province A could vote to overturn that law, however all marijuana would have to be grown in Province A, and it would be illegal to take marijuana from Province A to Province B.

 

The United Rekish Empire was formed in December of 2013, after the Ottoman invasion of Crimea. The eleven nations of Rekishstein were united by Emperor Richard Golen IV.

 

So what are the Rekish people?

 

The Rekish people are an ethnic group that lived in Bavaria for hundreds of years. However, the difference in culture eventually led to attacks on the ethnic group during the 1860's and 1870's as Bavaria joined the North German Confederation. As nationalism grew, the Rekish were slowly forced out of Germany and eventually fled to areas in the Balkans.

As the First World War broke out, many Rekish attempted to go back to Germany and rebel to create a nation of their own in their homeland, however they were defeated and fled. They were pursued by the Central Powers for attempting to overthrow German leadership, and many fled to Russia or France. Eventually, the split in location would lead to a divide.

 

After WW1, French Rekish enjoyed living in France and were not pursued by the French. However, as the communist revolution took place in Russia, the Russian Rekish were forced into a sudden change in the political power. Many of the Rekish attempted to escape, and many died. Those who did escape fled from areas around Ukraine to the Black Sea and into the Middle East.

 

In WW2, the German invasion of France did not have a large affect on the Rekish. The Rekish were, after all, from Germany, even if their ethnicity was different, and Hitler did not target them.

 

The world of the Rekish remained relatively the same, although their culture continued to be influenced by neighboring cultures. Many of the Rekish living in the middle east became Muslims, since the Rekish were historically not quite strong in religion.

 

In the late 1980's, the Rekish were again pursued for their different ethnicity. Richard Golen I (around age 70) would go on to lead the Rekish to a new home in southern Africa, and then become the Emperor of the First Rekish Empire. Following the establishment of Rekishstein, many of the Rekish in France migrated to the nation. However, the French Rekish were able to leave after selling much of their items and homes, and with money, unlike the Rekish that were chased from the Middle East, leading to a large class divide. French Rekish, much richer than the rest of the Rekish, became known as Sheungfranch.

 

Unfortunately, Golen I was assassinated at the FOFA World Cup, and Golen II ascended to the throne. Eventually, the Rekish government fell into crisis and destroyed itself.

 

Throughout the 2000's, the Rekish people began to move again, to areas along the northern coast in the Black Sea. They settled there, and formed small nations. The nations warred in chaos, until being united by Golen IV, which is where we stand today.

 

Despite many changes to the Rekish culture, it is still quite similar to the old Rekish culture from Bavaria. All Rekish still speak Rekish, and most still speak German. Many speak French, and there are also many who speak Turkish or Arabic. About 30% are Muslim. Many people who live in Rekishstein now are native Ukrainian.

 

Currently, most of the provinces have a similar government. However, all of them have a leading Duke or Duchess. The Dukes and Duchesses were appointed by Golen IV in early 2014. Each is the former leader of their province from before the unification, and they have equal power to the provincial governors in provincial lawmaking, as well as the title of nobility.

 

The eleven provinces are as follows:

 

AIGILES

Aegiles is the westernmost province of the United Rekish Empire. As it's flag states in blood-red letters, it was born in intense fighting during the Aigiles Rebellion, in which it rebelled from the Rekish nation of Euzhain, which it would later invade and annex in the Aigiles-Euzhain War. It won its war of independence in 2004. It is currently led by Governor Julaia Shailid and Duchess Ainsleu I of the House of Aigles.

 

 HAIPAIRIK

Haipairik was the first Rekish nation to settle the Ukraine area. It began as a small town, however grew into a city-state, and eventually was founded as a nation in 2000. Haipairik is well known for good food, as well as producing top diplomats, lawyers, political theorists, and leaders at Haipairik University. It's currently led by Governor Reudauf Eindeusse and Duchess Olivia I of the House of Cheu.

 

 TAIM'IR

Taim'ir was settled and founded in 2004. It is also known for exceptionally good food. Taim'ir is also the location of the United Rekish Space Administration (URSA), as well as the Indespaqet Science Institute, which produces top scientists. It's currently led by Governor Bach'tu Kallins'ir and Duke Timur I of the House of Feleunsja.

 

 KEPAI'IR

Kepai'ir was founded in 2001, and probably known most for the Heuschlaifbreustaichlein, which translates into Rekish as "Extraordinarily Large Bush Field". Indeed, it is literally an extremely large bush field. The entire field covers 30% of the entire province, and is entirely bushes. The Heuschlaifbreustaichlein is likely to become a National Park, as a petition to preserve it by making it a National Park has over 15,000 signatures in only one week. Kepai'ir is also known for being the host of Reukenweuden, which produces hundreds of movies each year. It's currently led by Governor Alechendrev Baisno and Duke Freunz I of the House of Euli.

 

 BRAINDAIKERT

Braindaikert is also the name of its capital city. Braindaikert (the city) is host to Phosphorus Valley (named in parody of Silicon Valley) where people design new software, robots, etc. Many large electronics and software companies are located in Braindaikert. Braindaikert is home to many visionaries as well as mathematicians. It is led by Governor Brandev Joon, as well as Duke Kamreun I of the House of Dumairro.

 

 JAUSHPAI'IRK

Jaushpai'irk is mainly a farming province. However, it is home to multiple famous composers and artists. Jaushpai'irk is led by Governor Kersteun Laingenkert and Duke Freudrich I of the House of Willms.

 

 BREUNDAI'IR

Breundai'ir was not originally part of the United Rekish Empire. However, it joined only two weeks after the creation of the Empire. One of Breundai'ir's most famous attractions is the Golden Pyramid of Sifer. It was built as a tomb for Breundai'ir's first leader, Vill Sifer. The Pyramid is not made of Gold, but the massive structure is made to look that way. A large eye is built into the pyramid. The symbolism behind it is that Vill Sifer will always be watching to make sure that Breundai'ir prospers and becomes perfect. Breundai'ir is led by Governor Nicol Weusch and Duke Brandev I of the House of Graifeulz.

 

 RAIBAI'IRT

Raibai'irt is known for a variety of things. There are several amazing cathedrals and mosques, as well as the Field of Izenbeul. The Field of Izenbeul was a field in which a large trench battle took place during the Reubesch War between Raibai'irt and Breundai'ir. The trenches scar the field which stretches from the northern to the southern Raibai'irt borders. The trenches still exist, and people can take tours of the battlefield and go inside trenches. Each year, over 8,000 members of the Rekish National Battle Reenactments Organization perform a spectacular reenactment of the battle to show just how devastating and bloody the battle was. Raibai'irt is led by Governor Leudauf Neusbem and Duchess Karolyn I of the House of Dumairro.

 

 KEUPAI'IR

Keupai'ir, not to be confused with Kepai'ir, is known for being an unstable province. The province has a strict divide between the Sheungfranch and the rest of the population, as well as the native Ukrainians. Since it's founding, power has been transferred through coups, rebellion, and assassination between the three groups. Currently, the Sheungfranch control most of the government, which is led by Governor Kamreun Schlimme and Duchess Meunwei I of the House of Jeen.

 

 TAI'AI'IM

TAI'AI'IM is the capital of the United Rekish Empire. Founded by Golen IV in 2004, it eventually united all of Rekishstein. It is the host of the city Golenkert (the capital city). Tai'ai'im also has the tomb of Golen I, which was relocated in late 2013. Tai'ai'im is led by Governor Julaia Leudenmaikai and Emperor Richard IV of the House of Golen.

 

 AIVA'AEUSTEFAILAIN

Aiva'Aeustefailain is known not only for its very long name, but also for producing many manufactured goods. It is also known for having a very complicated lawmaking and decisions process. Historically, Aiva'aeustefailain has been extremely slow to react to wars, disasters, etc. Since Aiva'aeustefailain produces so many goods, it is also home to many fashion and clothing companies. Aiva'aestefailain is currently led by Governor Meg'hain Vann and Duke Stanley I of Kameunsk.
