Classified, Private, whatever the proper terminology is.

There was always a truly impressive amount of wealth within Southern Africa, some of them far rarer than others, Southern Mozambique held some of the world's largest reserves of Aquamarine, and it was exploited as was everything else possible within MoG[Corp] territorial holdings. There were many other resources as well, but this story is about the Aquamarine, or at least something related to it. There was always variation within all mineral deposits, and geology was always a fascinating tale of time. At some point around 100 million years previous, an meteorite of some type had exploded above what is now South African coastline, the super-heated space rock had essentially drilled itself into the beryl and transformed the interior to a unique creation, a blend of xenogeology and terran minerals.

Sitting left unknown for the next epoch, it was eventually uncovered by a team of MoG[Corp] miners. What happened after its unearthing is unknown but the group of twelve was found four hours after they were supposed to have communicated estimates of daily extraction and began heading back to the town they were staying in. Eleven were found in pieces, entire chunks ripped off their torso, and various limbs or heads missing on the majority, and the twelfth with an impressive physical form but no head to speak of, the wound left on the corpse's neck implying the man's skull had exploded. Near the body was the sample which was recovered and brought to the rapid response team's base near the location which the sample was first uncovered.

Madeleine Toft was the head of the emergency response team, and while it ended up costing several more lives to create a containment protocol, their efforts were not in vain. A massive faraday cage was created in the open, outside of their camp, minimizing the impact of the gem upon the researchers. The most widely agreed upon theory from the data which would be gone over and over for the next for years at the least, was that what would become known as the Muanza Stone modified the subject's very DNA through a strange type of electromagnetic field, giving them unique enhancements based off their own unique DNA chain. Acting upon what was considered to be garbage DNA, leftovers from Neanderthals and other precursor species to man the EM bursts that radiated from the rock at the same pace at the heartbeat of the closest living creature. Other animals however did not activate any changes or for the majority, beyond domesticated dogs and cats and apparently all horses becoming agitated and actively attempting an escape from the space rock. Dolphins were tested some months after the sample fell into MoG[Corp] hands and reacted similarly to humans exposed to the stone, usually ending up violent against anything near it.

It was realized quickly that the awakening of ancient DNA was certainly having an impact on aggression of the human subjects, it was unknown why dolphins behaved similarly to humans, Madeleine providing the theory their own levels of intelligence had evolved along a similar timeline to man's, and hence DNA potentially holding junk chains that allowed the species to be more aggressive towards their ancient predators. Such aggression could hypothetically be used as a weapon, but the instability of subjects meant they would not serve well long term at the role. DNA records were gone over and an effort was made to find those with minimal of the garbage DNA possible, perhaps they would serve to be the best candidates to uncover the long term effects upon a human.
