The Surreal World We Live In

Watch the video again. That's not what he was talking about. He clearly stated at the end that he had no idea Bush the Elder (or Obama, before his walkback) had greater margins.

But his distractions are lies. Hillary had "distractions," and people called for her head. Do you see the double standard yet?

lol. That reminds me of a question I have. Are there any conservative comedians? Like, the left has SNL, John Oliver, Jon Stewart, Fallon, Conan, Colbert, etc. I genuinely don't know if there is any conservative comedians with shows. All the conservative entertainments I've seen are just rage-gasams. If you guys haven't seen Samantha Bee's stuff, that's what most conservative talk show hosts look like to me. If liberals have tears, then conservatives have high blood pressure. I'm starting to think that conservatives in general don't have a sense of humor.

He doesn't want to state he doesn't understand the basis of the statement handed to him so makes a mess of it. All I saw. What happens when instead of shooting from his own stockpile he is using someone else's ammo he isn't fully clear on.

The difference there was the media showed they were willing to attack anything and everything when it came to Trump and by comparison handled Hillary very favourably. Trump turns it all to his advantage as their overwhelming attacks on him work to his advantage. In the mess he hammers home simple enough points, many of which have truth to them to the man on the street (what people like you think is irrelevant). Those points are also viciously attacked, blatantly unfairly at that, and so people begin to think that if the media is being dishonest on those truths then what else are they on? Then we have Hillary who being Hillary is just a wretched politician to start with, absolutely zero appeal to anybody. She has her messes which the media doesn't go rabid over. To the same people seeing what happens to Trump the message becomes clear enough. Beyond that if its like this for her big lies then what about the rest? Anyway lets not go to those election issues. The vile monarch lays broken.

That end is dominated by the left wing yes and its actually a negative. Its overwhelming and turns people off as they can feel something is off. The proper course to these things is to attack both sides and is what such shows should strive to be. Instead they become echo chambers that only ever reach the converted, same with the general media. They have alienated and all but stated any not in their side of things is an enemy and so have degraded their influence. If outlets be it newspapers, a program, or whatever put out 1 million Trump attack pieces and they have no one to convert with such things... do said 1 million attack pieces matter? No.

As for right wing comedians I'm sure you could find plenty. Trump himself is one and has made fun of his enemies to the roar of the crowd.

What about his crowd size at his inauguration? Or 3 million illegal votes? I guess my question is, how many Trump lies can you defend before you sound like Conway?

Oh really? I seem to recall the media kept playing Clinton's email scandal on repeat while showing most of Trump's speeches unedited, giving him several billion dollars of free political campaign ads. But I digress, that's not the point. The point is, Trump lies. You can keep brushing them off as benign mistakes, or misinterpretations, or "distractions." But let's be honest here. If Hillary, or the media, said that 3 million illegal votes were cast for Trump in the election, and that proved to be wrong, you would lose your shit. You hated Hillary/media for lying. You have a double standard.

Lol, "I'm sure you could find plenty if you just looked for it" is the classic line for people who have nothing but hope that they will go on a rabbit hunt to find some. As much as you hate the left, at least they have a sense of humor.

It's a useful mental exercise. Through the years, many thinkers have been fascinated by it. But I don't enjoy playing. It was a game that was born during a brutal age when life counted for little. Everyone believed that some people were worth more than others. Kings. Pawns. I don't think that anyone is worth more than anyone else. Chess is just a game. Real people are not pieces. You can't assign more value to some of them and not others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not a thing that you can sacrifice. The lesson is, if anyone who looks on to the world as if it was a game of chess, deserves to lose.

As I've already told you I don't need to defend such things. Crowd size for example got a lot of attention, no doubt to plan, and ultimately so what? Lets state that Trump lied... and? Trump's persona in the public mind both in his supporters and enemies is that he is braggadocious. Catch him out on that and you win zero while he gets you to waste time and energy talking about a meaningless trifle while his picks were all getting through.

The email thing was a long running issue and they had to hit her now and then on something which was often that as it would be referenced so often. I love it when someone speaks as if the media was on Trump's side by giving him so much advertising. Their advertising and time given were to dramatically sum it up, "THIS IS LITERALLY HITLER". Pretty sure I've admitted Trump lies plenty. He simply lies smarter than the likes Clinton and in ways many can't comprehend.

I'm not a Conservative so I don't understand why I have been appointed their defender here by you. From what I know there are plenty, they just don't host those late night shows. The left a sense of humour? The same people that get offended over the smallest thing? That left? The left has humour when they are targeting their usual easy and safe targets. Few go beyond that.

Caecus I totally agree with your initial post.

When it comes to Russians... These guys, like the saudis and other oil-rich a%^holes outthere. They have at their disposal reserve funds worth tens of billions. If they want to fund a revolution they do it, if they want to buy a country, they buy it. If they want to transfer 10 mln dollars to a country in eastern europe to influence ellections, they do it. And we are talking about "dollars" - national currency of US that is used by these soviet era walking relics pumped with viagra and steroids.

In the light of recent events this below is the new me...

Also Trump - he is proving day after day that he isn't, wasn't and will never be a true republican... Shame on him, shame on the republican party.

Perhaps Trump's finest trick is to get some Progressive types so enraged they are wishing for the return of the religious fundies. The sheer ignorance of it all.

Have you seen for profit colleges? I'm assuming not, because if you did attend a for profit college, you would most likely be living in a cardboard box reading this through the local library internet on a presumably old ass computer.

I was under the impression that it was aimed at lower level education, since she (and Trump) mentioned charter schools multiple times.

For-profit colleges is an example of "privatizing" education. The most common issue is their lack of quality education. Sure, you could argue that the federal government has more regulatory "zeal" over K-12 education than they do in the tertiary level. But look at Common Core and how effective the department of education was in regulation Pearson and Hill. Privatizing education has a myriad of problems associated with it, the most basic one is an issue of oversight, both in implementation and the basic legality of it. Other problems include education disproportionately affecting the poor and non-white populations, market dominance by big businesses, and potentially higher costs (without proportionate returns) per student.

I believe charter schools are theoretically a good concept. Hell, there are even some great examples of charter schools around. The Obama administration liked it too. Pretty much every education department since Clinton likes it. With oversight and regulation, charter schools and vouchers are suppose to (based on market pressures) hire the best teachers, provide the best facilities and expand education to more people based on a for-profit margin. Problem is, you have too many charter schools who spend more time trying to enroll students than educating them, leading to drops in student performance. Sure, regulations would theoretically prevent that, but - putting on my libertarian/conservative hat on - the government is too bloated and lacks the necessary bureaucratic efficiency to police charter schools effectively. Charter schools have a huge margin of success.

So, let me get this straight: You don't mind Trump lying, because he does it smarter than Hillary and the mainstream media. You essentially hate Hillary and the mainstream media for being "stupid" at their lying. Am I summing that up correctly?

Ah, I'm sorry. I just wonder at times whether or not Trump supporters genuinely laugh, or if it's just screaming at a wall until your lungs give out.

Hillary didn't have the entire MSM against her, majority of politicians, and being outspent 2 to 1. Nor for that matter was she smeared as a racist, sexist, and all the rest for a year+ (spare me the paedophile stuff, that was nothing and Trump was hit with that too). In such a scenario you do what you got to do, simply logical. Now the MSM is even worse as their mission should be to be honest and not play these games and yet they do and have done for a long time.

??? You show an acute lack of knowledge of how things are these days. Before Brexit there was little to be happy about yes. People could see what was happening but sadly we were left to wonder when finally it would reach a point something would be done, we thought eventually but that is hardly worth being happy about. Then Brexit happened and bam that was a big blow. Then Trump happened and things look damn good elsewhere also. We are all very happy these days and many spend their time laughing and ridiculing the ridiculous losers out there who have lost so bad they don't know what to do (many have simply gone into overdrive doing what made them losers to start with). In short no, we are laughing quite happily, we're winning against very silly people after all, its instead the silly people who are screeching impotently.

Let me try that again. You don't mind that Trump lied. You don't really care about "fake news" or Hillary lying. What you care about is that Hillary and the media attacked your man Trump.

Awww! You little liberal snowflake. I'm so sorry that the big, bad media called your candidate a racist and a misogynist.

Your attempts are tiresome. Of course Trump lies and it would be foolish to say otherwise. However it is not all (he always lies) or nothing (he never lies) like you are trying to push. Clinton doesn't matter on this subject, who you can honestly forget the lies as her "truths" were bad enough.

I'll just point at the likes of Rahl on how much a waste of time trying to "throw back" such things are. It doesn't work on me. The media is supposed to give a balanced assessment of things and not to go to war with someone. It is also supposed to make mention of aspects which currently it clearly does not want to address which is why alternative news sources are on such an increase as they, as flawed as many are, do tackle such things. If you disagree then there isn't much else to say on that subject.

This statement implies the media collectively has a double standard. This statement implies that if any other president - particularly Obama - said or did the things Trump did, the media would not report on it. What your statement implies is bullshit. If Obama said or did even half of what Trump has said or done in the last bloody week alone, Jason Chaffez would have already brought down the hammer of the House Oversight on his dumbass head for it.

Yeah, I agree, the media focuses too much on his stupid shit. But let's be clear here: when the president of the United States lies about stupid shit, it makes news because the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES ISN'T SUPPOSE TO LIE ABOUT STUPID SHIT. For example, he had an excellent call with China two weeks ago, a great meeting with the prime minister of Japan last week. But do we hear about that? No. But that's because Flynn got fired for what pretty much amounts to treason. The week before was Bowling Green. Two days ago it was Sweden. The list of stupid shit he has said from the office of the most powerful position in human history is tediously long, and it's only been a single bloody month. If Trump and his team managed to get their shit together for a single goddamn week, we could actually hear about those stories of them actually getting shit done. That's how low the bar is for him right now.

You seriously saying Obama didn't do worse things in 8 years than Trump who has had 5 weeks or so thus far? Laughable. Obama ran as an anti-Bush of sorts and expanded America's war efforts far more than Bush could have dreamed. Where was the daily savaging attacks on Obama over that? Nowhere. What about a smaller issue like when Obama squeezed in bailing out Blackstone? Media was more concerned with attacking Trump on any and all trivial matters? Face it. The MSM gave Obama an easy ride as they would have given Clinton People can act like big noble tough guys going after Trump but the truth is with Obama they dared not seriously attack which shows them up. Look at all the concern at the girl killed in a Trump airstrike... where was that sort of deluge when Obama was doing that all the time? That's why I have no time for such attacks from such people. I know that they don't really care at all and it is all political attacks.

Jackson did away with a great many Native Americans, Roosevelt interned the Japanese in the US, and there are many more I'm sure. You are seriously saying Trump shooting his mouth is equatable to those things? Not to mention this talk of "he says stupid stuff" isn't even new to US Presidents as George Bush the Younger did it all too well.

As for him not saying something to trigger the deluge... I'm not so sure on that. Remember that him ripping up the TPP was met with "It was dead anyway" with a side of "the TPP would have been great". If I were Trump I'd rather they have a tidal wave of meaningless nonsense on trivial things than to be using that tidal wave to attack actual important things he is doing.

Did Obama say that 3 million people voted illegally for McCain? Did Obama's team reference any fake terror attacks? Did Obama use his office of power to enrich himself? Did Obama have his advisers go on Fox and Friends to advertise for his daughter's line of clothing store? Did Obama falsely brag about his crowd size in his inauguration? Did Obama have to fire his National Security Adviser 8 days into his job? Was Obama and his team ever under the scrutiny of the FBI for colluding with a foreign government to get themselves elected?

There is a crap ton of stuff that I don't agree with Obama on. Foreign affairs, Syria, the pullout of Iraq. I'm not much of a market purist, but I sometimes wonder whether or not the auto bailout was a good. But there is a difference between calling out Obama on his policies and calling out Trump on objectively stupid shit he has said.

You're right. We've had presidents who lied. We've had presidents who have said stupid shit. I just don't know of any president who has lied about stupid shit.

Awfully selective you're being. So you've cited a bunch of Trump things (many minor and you have no evidence on enriching himself) and said Obama didn't do them so he is in the clear? Doesn't work like that sunshine.

Well yes, one gets no attention and the other gets an overwhelming amount. Trump saying "stupid shit" as you put it doesn't mean much while Obama doing things actually did. Blackstone is a private equity company (http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2017/01/the-obama-administration-bails-out-private-equity-landlords-at-the-expense-of-the-middle-class-government-guarantees-for-rental-securitization.html), not an auto one. They could have safely been allowed to go down (they deserved to) but Obama decided to that good old socialism for the companies. You can cite his issues here but where were you full of this sort of rage when he was doing it years ago? You and the large majority speaking now against Trump were asleep, content that as Obama was a Democrat that it was all alright. Obama bailing out Blackstone got barely a peep outside a small amount of enraged (now, even against Obama) people. Trump doing it would have got all of you railing against it.

There have been Presidents who have done much worse. Saying "stupid shit" hardly ranks up there. If that is your metric for bad done then you need to learn to judge it via some other metric.

Yoda? I'm just saying, if Obama did those things, Obama would likewise be under the scrutiny of the media. And I'm saying its stupid to think that the media wouldn't report if Obama said stupid shit like Trump.

Bringing in Obama's policies is a red herring. You suggested that the media had a double standard. I'm saying that you're full of crap, and if any other president lied on national television about stupid shit, the media would be all over that too. The media is "attacking" Trump because Trump is objectively saying some stupid shit.

Also, it's not a good sign when your argument is "other presidents have done worse."

Yes, if Obama acted like and pushed the exact same things as Trump he'd be under scrutiny... do you think before you type? In what way makes you think that is a valid defense? Obama did plenty of bad things and recieved no attention on them because he could talk and look good. That is good to you? These people angry now know everything Trump does and can call him a monster. Obama however they thought innocent, their eyes and ears closed to his deeds. Which is worse? At least with the Trump monster they know to fight back. With the Obama monster they lay back and are devoured with ease.

You're trying to localise it to him lying on TV. You know full well its not localised and the media is at war with Trump.

When you're holding Trump up as the ultimate badness for saying stupid things its very valid actually. He ain't even the first in regards to that even.

Good, now that we have established that, on to my second point: When Trump says stupid shit, that's what gets air time. Not his relatively productive meetings with the Japanese Prime Minister, not his cooling-down talks with China. If Trump wants better coverage of the good shit he has done, he's got to stop running his dumbass mouth so much. Is the media covering more about the stupid shit he says than his actual policies? Yeah. Is the media holding Trump to a double standard? No.

Trump has toyed with the idea of ending the Fed. With that in their minds I don't think they would seriously provoke him and risk getting destroyed for it.

How do you know this isn't to plan? The media being constantly on him is something he has long since turned to his advantage and perhaps its simply going to the next stage. As the "Champion of the People" he needs to be attacked by the "Enemies of the People" which is the role the media will be playing in this story for now. People have tired of the media and this weariness only grows stronger as they persist in all this trivial nonsense. Perhaps Trump aims to become completely immune to the media so when he does something that they could legitimately attack hard on their blows are rendered so weak they are pointless. Perhaps he wants the continued destruction of their reputation to continue so he can safely defang them completely with a law change such as the one that would allow him to sue them all to oblivion if they do the same things they have been doing.

Or maybe he just running his mouth as he is the world's top shitposter after all.
