HNS Special Report - The Climate Change Initiative - Part 2

Recommended Posts

Welcome back to this Special Report, taking a look at Emperor Tristar Majestica's Climate Change Initiative. This is the 2nd and final part of this Special Report. Let's get to it:

Wildlife Protection Zone Expansion Project

The Wildlife Zone Project was launched as part of the old Climate protection plans. It never took center stage but did serve an important an important part in creating and sustaining Greenfield National Park. The Emperor signed the Wildlife Protection Zone Expansion Project as part of his climate laws and brought the issue of wildlife protection to the table. Almost immediately, over 400 acres of new land was deemed protected by the project, and a further 3100 acres was added to protected land over the next few weeks. The project helped bring back fox populations, rabbit populations, and deer populations which were on the brink of extinction, as hunters all over Hungadada came to hunt. All in all, the Hungadadian government declared the project a success yesterday.

Citizens of Orbis Program

The Citizens of Orbis Program was officially launched with the new laws and provided a new objective to lowering the overall environmental footprint of Hungadadian citizens. The program worked directly with municipalities and town councils to educate citizens about the hundreds of problems facing the Hungadadian environment. Problems such as fresh-water pollution, illegal logging, littering, food wasting and dozens of others were all discussed, and educators urged citizens to do their part in taking care of the environment. A nationwide walk to clean up litter brought out over 15,000 people, and collected over 50 tons of garbage and litter. Municipalities and town councils were also urged to continue planning for the future and investing in future green projects. Leading by example was the small town (only 50 people) of West Rock. The local government there invested in a small food recycling center and community garden, which urged citizens to bring their food waste to the center to be made into compost. The compost would then go into the fertilizer for the garden. West Rock also overhauled its trash collection systems, by requiring people to separate their trash into food waste, plastics and aluminum, and paper/cardboard. All municipal vehicles in West Rock are powered by electricity. Other towns are following suit, and Gull City even announced that it would begin an overhaul of its waste collection. All in all, the Citizens of Orbis Program can possibly be called the most successful program yet.
