After intense debate, the issue of the empire's name has been finally decided upon in Parliament after a close vote. It was decided that the name "Byzatine Empire" should be formally dropped and be replaced by the "Hellenic Empire".In addition, the term "Byzantine Empire" will no longer be used to refer to the empire in any official government documents as well.

I honestly don't think he's that big of a moron.While he has shown a decent amount of incompetence,it's nowhere near the memes many of his rather hardline opponents are pushing,but there have been many presidents who have messed up on such a scale so large that it would make Trump look like an Einstein. The bill comes as a conflict regarding the name of the country evolved into two sides,with one arguing that the name is outdated and inappropriate while the other saying that the term "Byzantine Empire" should be preserved as to protect the cultural legacy of the people.This bill,titled the "Title of the Realm Act" would not only change the name of the Byzantine empire to one referred to as more suitable by the "enlightened" faction but would also establish a totally new successor state as well. The bill has received support from large sectors of Byzantine society and is expected to pass with a decent majority.

The Parliament of the Byzantine Empire convened together for yet another time in the capital of Athens,with MPs expecting another dull,bureaucratic, day,discussing mundane topics all day and just critique each other all day,however this day in particular would be special, as the Emperor himself was to make a speech to Parliament on the throne,planning to make his first public appearance since an attempt on his life earlier in June. A motorcade of several vehicles arrived at Parliament, with Emperor Constantine II and his wife seen exiting a black 2017 Toyota Prado land cruiser, to the public's surprise, Constantine II was seen in a wheel chair,still recovering from his attempted assassination, his wife pushed the wheelchair beaming with pride,as the ceremonial guards stood to the sides,saluting both as they entered the building. Emperor Constantine, aided by his bodyguards,was placed on the now rarely used and mostly ceremonial chair. He sat comfortably in the seat,and after an awkward silence lasting 15 minutes, the King began his speech. "Greetings,parliamentarians,citizens of the glorious Byzantine Empire,it has been a while now since we have last met,at least officially, however,times have changed.
