  1. Yeah, it'd be rough Iron -> Iron Steel -> Steel Oil -> Whale Oil Gasoline -> ??? Bauxite & Aluminum -> ??? & ??? Uranium -> ??? Nukes -> ?????
  2. As the saying goes, si vis pacem, para bellum vacazione modus.
  3. Probably like the Entebbe Raid, but without the whole flying in part
  4. All it takes is another bug in the game's code faith
  5. Providing some additional warning for new players when building farms may help with player retention. In my recent random(ish) sample of new players, most had at least one farm despite their nation having been created after radiation reached 100% for this war. Most new players seem to build them for self-sufficiency, likely leading some to quit when they can't figure out how to not starve during these wars. Having some confirmation message like the trade screen for new players (say, <30 days or something similar) may help with player retention.
  6. You missed the part where they had every single person in the game in their alliance at one point
  7. m8 your nation is less than a year old, how is this annual?
  8. He mentioned new player retention being an issue. Raising raw resource costs would help newer players as they could make more money off of cheaper improvements with no power requirement. IIRC that's what the tutorial recommends they build. I'm not even 50th percentile for soldiers killed but I'm over 90th percentile for planes killed (for the C25-29 range as a C22)? What the hell is everyone else doing? On a more serious note, I do agree it should be less min-max-y. I think majority of players will always use it for C30s, so tailoring the percentiles around C29 stats would make sense (assuming this is an activity driver as opposed to a catchup mechanic).
  9. 3 nations with roughly the same name and ID. 2 of them are on the same network, as well as a 3rd nation called Xaci. https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=543400 https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=543402 https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=543403 So far, no interactions between the these three, but they each sent $1m to this guy. This guy has received $1m from plenty of other now-deleted nations. He sent $13m to the Xaci nation listed before. https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=542957 https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=542957&display=trade Here is Xaci: https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=541297 It appears the scheme goes as follows: Multis are created, money is sent to a "middleman", and that money is then sent to Xaci. Auditing Xaci's trade history, this appears to be another multi middleman: https://politicsandwar.com/nation/id=542836&display=trade Which brings us to what appears to be a few more multis: I have screenshots if needed, but I think this should suffice for now.
  10. Do you have enough oil, coal, or uranium to run the power plant? IIRC, if you don't have enough on hand for this turn, they'll say they are unpowered until turn change (every 2 hours) assuming that your oil/coal/uranium production is a net positive. You should only need 1 coal/oil power plant per 500 infrastructure (infra) rounded up or 1 nuclear power plant per 2000 infra rounded up. You can remove 4 oil and the nuclear power plants or 6 oil power plants in Andor, 2 coal + 2 oil power plants or 4 oil power plants in Iacon, and 3 oil and the nuclear power plants or 6 oil power plants in Solacon. Beyond that, make sure you have enough oil/coal/uranium to power the plants for next turn change. Hope this helps!
  11. What's the worth of paper if the paper is worthless?
  12. Huh, I must've forgotten that. Sounds like Rose, though
  13. To be fair, the 168 Day War back in 2015(?) was also arbitrary. It lasted 29 days.
  14. Month-Late St. Patrick's Massacre, named after PaW's St. Patrick's Massacre
  15. Eventually 15 cities will be seen as lower tier. Why not either remove it entirely or create a metric that increases it automatically with respect to average cities for nations over x days, seniority weighted average cities, or a similar metric?
  16. It was great back then and still is now, especially since I'm winning again
  17. It's been a while since I've been on here, but I'll go through your post line by line. While I agree with the posters above, I'll try to explain why here. I say this to explain our reasoning, hoping this helps. Welcome! I will admit I didn't believe someone hit you with a missile, much less a nuke, until I viewed your nation's recent wars. That seems a bit odd. I remember back when those projects were considered expensive. It's still odd considering it seems counterproductive to a raid. I've been on a ~4 year hiatus from PaW, so I'll let someone else chime in if they see a reason why they would be used there. The learning curve is one of the reasons why we highly advise people to join an alliance. The war mechanics are more in-depth than they first appear; the advice of more experienced players in real-time (usually through Discord) is infinitely more valuable than any guide. Alliances are able to pool experienced and inexperienced players alike, creating room for learning. This isn't exclusive to the war aspect, either. They should be helping you in building your cities. I see you have since joined The Armed Peacekeepers (TAP). If they haven't reached out to help you with your city setups, join a different alliance. Let me repeat that: If TAP hasn't reached out to help you maximize your cities' profits, join a different alliance. I don't know much about TAP or TFP these days, so I don't know how their new player outreach is. They could be great for all I know, but it's worth mentioning. (Cut part of your reply for space because it is the same point.) This is generally only true for nations with fewer cities. Most nations join an alliance before reaching higher city counts, leading to fewer raid targets, thus fewer pirates. To my knowledge, there have only been a handful of people who reached city 20 without an alliance, and all have been raiders. (I would argue this is due to their knowledge of war and ability to wage it as the most prominent case of this had the nation constantly at war and winning more often than not.) In reality, the pirates have two revenue streams: their nation and up to 5 (6 with the appropriate project) other nations. The military maintenance is miniscule compared to the income from raiding other nations. It's basic math, really. Likewise, the maintenance from having a standing military will be miniscule compared to losing raids constantly. This is not true at higher city counts and in alliances. As a former head of alliance, there is plenty of alliance politics ongoing constantly, even early on in the game with fewer members and alliances. 1. This may be partially helped by planned changes to naval warfare. 2. -I addressed this above: multiple revenue streams. -Again, it's really only due to size and being alliance-less. Being able to call in backup (alliance members) if you are being raided is valuable. Being ignored by raiders due to just being in an alliance is priceless, as noted by Nyx above. -To be honest, I don't see how nation-level political pacts (defense pacts) would be much different than being in an alliance, minus the bonuses I mentioned above (along with city grants and memes). Alliances that don't protect their own are worthless and should be publicly shamed so raiders can deal with them. I don't know of any top 50 that don't, though. Most alliances I know of offer new nations money to build their cities and usually run progressive taxes. I remember back before the tax feature (or even the bank for that matter) was even implemented, some alliances would charge taxes of larger members just to fund younger nations. City-count cohesion is important for alliances when at war, so they are incentivized to help you build your nation. The market should have enough trading volume to negate the alliance embargo issue, unless you're in a particularly bad alliance. In addition, you have access to your alliance's market. 3. This is actually an interesting feature I'm not opposed to, to be honest. The devs already have quite a few planned features and this is effectively negated by being in an alliance, so I don't think they should make it a high priority. I do find the concept interesting and wouldn't oppose it, though.
  18. Hey, I went overseas and checked Discord in a country where all VOIP apps, including Discord, are illegal. Game > IRL

  20. @YawningOwl If you're over there, make sure nobody picks up tear gas grenades. Do not pick up tear gas grenades. The ones police typically use now are designed to disperse the gas quickly using a small explosive to prevent people from throwing them back at police. Most other grenades police use also violently detonate (flashbangs grenades, concussion grenades, etc.). Some protestors in France tried that during the yellow vest protests and had their hands blown off.
