  1. Inspired by the current post of Rozalia where players were given the opportunity to pick 4 wives, and after noticing the complains of both male and female players about the lack of male picks, I decided to make a similar post for husbands. How this is played 1: Below you will find 2 groups of images, separated by a red line. Pick 3 or 2 images above the red dividing line ("real" men group) and 1 or 2 below it (beast-men group). You must choose 4 images in total. Doing otherwise, be it by listing too few or too many from one area, will render your picks invalid. 2: Out of these 4 picks, select a main husband. 3: Picks grant 1 point each, main husband gets an extra 0.5 added. 4: State if you are a male or female. 5: Feel free to explain why you picked the 4 and why you selected whoever you chose as the main husband. Template Main Husband: Additional 3 Husbands: Your (in-game or real) Gender (optional): Reasons (optional):

  2. Hello everyone, I'm happy to announce the return of the Politics and War Awards for this year! I'll be organising it this year along with a few others, so we'll give it our best shot. To make things slightly simpler than last year, we'll be breaking down the Categories completely into the four sections- Player, Alliance, Community and Worsts. Each will have separate threads run by a different person. Hopefully that will make it easier for people to pass along their nominations for the categories they want to vote in, rather than having to leave many blank like last year. Here is the schedule we are looking at right now: Nominations will be held from November 15th until December 1st Voting will be done from December 2nd until December 16th Awards will be announced on Sunday the 17th of December. That's all for now folks, thanks for another great year, and here's to hoping for an even better one next year.

  3. It has come to my attention that the moderators of this forum saw fit to warn and lock Brother Rozalias "4 Wives" thread on the grounds that is "mocks the Islamic Faith". Clearly the moderators of this forum believe that sharia law is an accurate representation of the Islamic faith, and cannot be mocked. Thus, the moderators support the subjugation and oppression of women. The moderators should be ashamed of their unprogressive beliefs in 2017.

  5. I'm a Muslim and I do not find it offensive at all. I really don't care what someone else thinks about Islam or any concept in it. Those Muslims who do find it offensive - will also probably find women outside on the street alone offensive so.. it's futile to bother about them.

  6. So I have my thread locked and I am warned for two reasons apparently. First my parody of the infamous "women are worth half a man in whatever the hell". So... mocking sharia law, you know, sharia law, is bad apparently. On a factual basis mind you as well... however this is small potatoes compared to the labeling me of a racist... for a thread involving many different types of women... where I make no insulting point towards said women and my own posting has me pick 4 women of different ethnicity.

  7. While i have no doubt you were tying to do the right thing, i think you were bamboozled. Lord was additionally contacted by killz during this whole thing, this is a little except from the covo. Now this isnt how someone who truly wanted to return the alliance after negotiations would act. Lets not forget this is not the first time The sad matter of the fact is he most likly had no intention of returning it originally. After i personally sent him a message explaining why what he did was not right, he suddenly offered to return it. While im honored he took my suggestion or at least seems that way, the simple fact is i doubt he did this to help Valk, rather than did it to further advance him and get his own alliance. With that being said why should Valk gov be forced to negotiate with a traitor, there is better options than that, and that includes reforming (if they so choose to do so)

  10. Your fixation on the old world consumes you. The warmth of your gaze stirs this sleeping world's long dead mantras, rivalries and shortcomings back to life. Empowered and emboldened by your attentions they stir, twist and twirl until they become one. A blurry phantom claw of repulsive stagnation, solidified enough to swing out from that forgotten word and clasp you by your ankles. I see you struggle, Anneal. With every mention of the word, the grasp strengthens. The vast weight of another thousand of old players recalled from the damned abyss of nations in that world joining the rallying cry of the deleted. A repulsive mix of stagnant stoicism and fear slowly seeps into your facial expression as you so desperately fight for your dynamic ideals. It matters not. You have revitalized the monster you sought to banish. You have given voice to the unspeakable and consequently, you have become a part of the grey mass which crossed over into this dimension. You are now all of us, and nothing all the same.

Close calls: Thrax (but we would almost definitely start genociding on day 2, which is kind of a good thing, but also so much effort. I also think it might not be fair to the world to concentrate the terrible in one pair like that) and hades (I like them nerds) Third: Apeman (probably for the same reason as Thrax, but more ape-y) Fourth: Don't really know these other people but I'd say Buorhann, because I'm also a swamp creature. 15. Wow. Just wow. In the grand scheme of moderation issues, this was a micro issue. Someone is clearly a little too sensitive, biased, or not particularly cognizant of actual islamic life. Roz can hardly be "mocking" polygamist tendencies of islam in a negative way when he himself advocates for polygamy. Rather, he uses islam as a shield for those who are of a certain bent, to prevent being shouted down by comparing himself to something they refuse to criticize. Headscratcher for sure. I don't think polygamy is a good idea. It is definitely a part of islam via the Quran, and if you have questions I can introduce you to my Yemeni in-laws. In fact, it's totally uncontroversial. Not as if Roz was making an argument that the Quran and Hadiths literally advocate for mass murder of all nonbelievers...which is also a debatable question, not a stereotype. Shutting down speech rather than engaging in conversation about whether there is an issue is just an embarassing example of poor moderation. And quite frankly, if you're islamic and dislike the polygamy bit...it isn't my fault that it is there, and demanding I not talk about it to spare you embarassment over it makes it appear as if you support polygamy but, deep down, feel it is shameful.

  16. I warned Alex about Erin being a dubious moderator long ago. Looks like it's coming to fruition. Not only is the thread not prejudiced, but she doesn't even know what racism is. If the thread was critical, it would be critical against a religion, not a race. Keep in mind that I say this in light of what I said in the thread itself about the topic being shallow. Just because you have a shallow topic doesn't mean you have a prohibitive one.

  18. While Greene's boats were sunk, the sheer treasure contained within slowed his enemy down considerably and so he was able to escape towards the Radiant Army headquarters in the region, Ignatia, the deceased Don Juan's former seat of power. Using his wealth he bribed to his side the corrupt Radiant Army force stationed there and then gathered mercenaries from all 4 corners of the land under Heaven. His force was so, that even Lordship's show of force in the past that drove the Son of Heaven from his lands could not match it. Such was the power of wealth. Greene's army was large yes, however most men had little or no loyalty to him and Greene's officers, largely incompetent sycophants of Greene could not control them adequately. In their council in Ignatia Nicol Bolas spoke up on the matter, "Lord Greene our forces are large but they are badly trained and disloyal so it would be unwise to engage such a foe so quickly". Greene responded by ordering his execution. When Ferdinand Fuhrn spoke up about how executing a loyal officer who merely wishes to advise was wrong, he too was executed. "Listen you ingrates, I pay you to fight for me and not to question. My army is so massive that if all my men were to throw their whips into the Llanera River, its flow would stop. It does not matter how talented Rozalia is, it does not matter whatever pathetic resistance his army puts up, my army is the largest under Heaven and will lay anyone and everyone to waste. Anyone who thinks otherwise can join those two on the gallows because you see, you're all quite replaceable to me" Greene smiled and thought about how things were going, first he would crush that pesky Rozalia and then he takes down Lordship. Nothing can stop him. The Son of Heaven heard of all the going on and began amassing allies and his own forces in Rozapolis. Spaceman Thrax who brought a sizable force and others who came to help were treated admirably, but an issue occurred when they heard that the expected battle site was not being reinforced. When asked the Roz could merely say that there is no reason to worry, though he would not expand on the subject. Greene was told that due to the army's sheer size that moving it would be difficult and slow and as such he decided to lead an advance force ahead of his main body to Grillago, which had been recently recaptured from the Radiant Army by Roz Wei forces under Kastor. Robert Ap Ioan spoke up about the foe they would face, "Lord Greene, Kastor they famously say is too adventurous and independent. If you bribe him and promise him land and power he will certainly surrender to you. Vexz who we currently have in our forces is an old friend of Kastor and I'm sure will be able to sway him". Vexz however while acting as a messenger to try to get Kastor to surrender, instead informed him that Greene's main army was still quite a ways away and he should try to derail his campaign by defeating his advance force. Kabr and Kanzaki both leading 10,000 soldiers each were sent to engage the advance force Greene had brought with him and together they scored a devastating victory, killing 30,000 men, killing worgenwow and Zamenhof in battle, and looting many of Greene's personal treasures such as his Akan Drum and his Emerald Tableware. Greene humiliated had to flee back to the safety of his main force and this had the effect of even further slowing down his main army and reducing morale. The Son of Heaven heard of Kastor's great victories and celebrated it all with a grand party for him and those gathered. When his officer Dubayoo came to his residence at the insistence of Spaceman Thrax to talk of why the battle site was not being reinforced, the Son of Heaven feigned paralysis to not see him. By the time Greene's main force reached Grillago and the surrounding area he found it's towns evacuated, it's fields bare, and it's forts flooded. Morale for his army fell even lower than it was but Greene decided to continue for nothing could defeat his massive army. Opposite of Greene's 1,170,000 soldiers were the 80,000 elite soldiers under the Son of Heaven. Spaceman Thrax was worried, their forces could certainly not move forward and they had prepared no defenses on their side of the river. He questioned at the council why no defenses had been prepared and at last the Son of Heaven spoke clearly on the matter, "There is no reason for us to build defenses because we will not battle here". Puzzled Spaceman Thrax questioned further, "Do you mean to say we will attack over the river onto Greene's side? He would never allow us to cross and we'd be advancing on an army 10 times our own and giving the defensive edge to them". This comment affected those present who thought the Son of Heaven's ideas quite ridiculous also. The Son of Heaven noticing this moved to quash this distrust, "You think that Greene will never allow us across the river? Then watch as I show that to be wrong... I will... simply ask". Greene was surprised to receive a letter from Rozalia stating that the allied forces wished to engage Greene's army in battle and asking him to move his army north a little bit so they could cross and engage. Robert Ap Ioan spoke up stating that maneuvering such a large army in that manner was too complicated for the advantages that might be obtained, especially with so many ill disciplined troops. Greene however thought it wonderful, to be able to punish his opponent's arrogance. Many soldiers in Greene's army began to worry why a sudden retreat order had been given. Already retreating and heavily demoralized, Greene's army went into a panic when Spaceman Thrax, who had rapidly crossed the river to attack, raised a shout of "the Greene army has been defeated". Rozalia and generals AkAk and Andes crossed the river and launched a major assault. The "the Greene army is defeated" rumour spread like wildfire among Greene's army, and chaos erupted. Robert Ap Ioan personally tried to halt the retreat and reorganise the troops, but his horse suddenly buckled and he was killed by the advancing Allied forces unit under Tulip. The allied forces generals noticed the chaotic footprints and wheel marks, and declared that the Greene army was not in an organised retreat but could only be in total disarray. The allied forces soldiers continued their pursuit, and the entire Greene army collapsed. A large amount of food and supplies were abandoned as Greene's soldiers tried to escape with their lives. In the ensuing retreat and pursuit, an estimated 90-95% of Greene's troops died from combat, starvation and exposure to the elements. As Greene escaped, he screamed at the sky, "The Heavens have annihilated me!" Following the battle Rozalia regained much of his former land including the grand Ignatia. From there he declared that the Age of Roz was at hand and celebrated by taking 42 concubines from across the globe, a fact he publicised greatly to the annoyance of many. As for Greene he tried to escape to the ends of the earth but he was captured at a checkpoint by Lordship's soldiers and brought to the irritated ruler who had him executed. Soon after Lordship received a letter from the Son of Heaven. It was an image with many naked women in it, something of no interest to him, however his eyes widened in interest and admiration when he saw the Roz himself naked in the image. Lordship quickly ordered everyone out of the room so he could be alone.

  23. After reviewing this thread and the moderation action taken against it, I agree that this post warranted a lock. What I see here is a thinly disguised attempt to ostracize and bully perhaps not only Muslims, but females as well. This "game" (in the post) uses women as objects to be coveted and possessed, which is not only wrong and demeaning to women, but also dangerous for our younger players (of whom there are many) who are developing their beliefs and understanding of how the world and interpersonal relations works. This post could be interpreted as against the rules from trolling (deliberately provocative posting with the aim of inciting an angry response) to the promotion of illegal activity (polygamy is illegal in the United States, where the game is based, as well as the majority of jurisdictions where players come from.) I disagree with the forum moderators' assessment that the post is inherently racist, but again, I re-iterate my points about how harmful this sort of "game" (in the post) is to women, and how this type of thing can be used to bully Muslim players. After a complete review, I take no issue with the forum moderators' actions here.

  28. Massive unequal application of mod rules. We have multiple posters promoting violence against women and racial segregation basically running the forums. I found Rozs post to be a distasteful dogwhistle, and it wouldn't even break my top 20 for threads in need of mod intervention this month. If your going to actually follow the forum rules now, more power to you, but don't act like railroading Rozalia has suddenly brought peace to these troubled lands.

  29. Roz, you were clearly using Islam as a shield to make you sound less controversial and so that this thread would be made if you got in trouble. You and many others in this game have been using Islam as a scapegoat and it's just getting annoying at this point. The real question is, why did you make the thread in the first place? What point were you trying to make? Don't say it's "just a game" because if it was then you wouldn't be making such a big deal of it being locked.

  30. Edited for simplicity. A more accurate example, Syrano, would be Roz telling you to pick a meal, but with "Jewish rules." No pork, no yeast, no shellfish, all-Kosher ingredients. Moneylending is not part of jewish scriptures in the same way, that's a more tenuous connection like islamic scriptures and terrorism. And yes, I certainly didn't see any racsim from Roz, although there was potential for racism from those so inclined. Racists might say any number of distasteful things about women with darker skin tones than themselves if so prompted. "Post about the problems in your own society" amuses me. Basically, we're really gonna go down that road? (A) nobody was posting about problems, Roz likes polygamy, and (B) as rational human beings, let's apply that backwards to Germany 1936. The rest of Europe TRIED ignoring a society with problems and it got out of hand. They criticized it a lot, and eventually, we all wound up at war over it until the land-grabbing invasion of multiple sovereign nations and a genocidal purge of an entire semitic people-group was stopped. Being afraid to critique and engage in the public square is a recipe for disaster as those more malevolent ignore the rules and seize an audience. Agreed that banning the post was ridiculous.

  31. Well, I think everyone playing an online politics and war game basically agrees that we'd rather not live under Sharia rule But taking Sharia rule, calling it "Islam" and mocking 1 billion people's varied and differing beliefs with that blanket term ... is kind of douchy? I wonder how our moderators would have felt btw if instead of "Islamic Rules" Rozalia had used the specific term "Sharia law", which refers to one specific code of laws in which a version of what he was saying applied... Not that it would change the basic point behind it, which is to mock others...

  34. Name: Reuben Occupation: President of Reubenia Nationality: Reubenian, born in Perth Australia. Ethnicity: Chinese Connections: Sister who works as a psychiatrist inside Reubenia Wife is former high school teacher. Loyal husband, no current extramarital affairs. Four close friends, captured leaving and entering the Presidential residence on multiple occasions. Nathan Baitup, Will Sarenic, Seth Sidorenko, and Micheal Bardsley. It is rumored they spent high school together in their early teens. Nathan Baitup is an anesthetist, living in Metro City. Our DGSE team trailing Nahan has picked up his susceptibility to anxiety and also seems to exonerate mild Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Will Sarenic is a sports journalist working in Metro City. His pieces have been widely renowned in Reubenia, but have received little to no international attention. Our DGSE agents have bugged his office in Metro City. The DGSE have found out his father died when he was just 13 leaving him with just his mother. Seth Sidorenko is a lawyer working in Nathanston, our DGSE agents have been unable to find his office inside Nathanston and speculate he works for the Reubenian Intelligence Agency as an undercover Human Rights Lawyer. The DGSEa agents trailing Seth have reported he gets very stern and determined during discussions. One incident where a pub member called Reuben an old turd say Seth defend his friend and get very angry. Michael Bardsley is a history professor teaching in Williamsburg at a university there. Micheal seems to be very moderate and an intellect. The DGSE highly favor Michael as a successor to Reuben either through a coup d’eta or a peaceful “democratic” election. While the DGSE favors Micheal, they rule both him and Seth as unapproachable candidates for assets. Will has shown various flaws, but Nathan is the highly desired as a candidate. He can be pushed into accepting, or at the very least can be pushed to the brink by using advanced but non-lethal methods of coercion. Political Alignment: Leading Party, leftist and social-liberal On the DGSE’s for possible support of the Eslovan Salvation Army, extremist Christians Court Union, and Flemish Republican Army. Current Operations: Attempting to infiltrate the Scientology and other groups inside Reubenia to find their leaders. European Desk deems Reuben an unreliable, uncontrollable, and irresponsibly childish leader. The European Desk believe Reuben’s principals of democracy and liberty both serve as a tool of national politics, but as a blindsiding effect to manipulate and cultivate him into an unknowing asset.

I am not necessarily saying this the posts in question here were rule-breaking, as I have not yet reviewed them, but if you believe that there are other, worse rule-breaking forum posts, please report them. There is a button to report on each post, and we rely on these reports heavily to moderate the forum. Myself and the forum moderators cannot review every single post on this large forum.

  41. To any other Worm fans out there, there's great news! Wildbow's just released the first parts of the sequel! To any of the uninitiated, Worm is a web serial novel based in a world of superheroes and supervillains in the urban scale fantasy of a world quite like our own. The story revolves around Taylor Hebert, and her newly gained powers. However, the world of Worm is no friendly and cheerful place. White and black morality exist only as shades of grey, heroes are not as noble as they may seem and villains may not be as evil as they appear, and the presence of superpowers has not necessarily changed the world for the best. If you're interested, here's the link to Wildbow's website, where you can find both the original story and its new sequel: https://parahumans.wordpress.com/

  44. You know what? I'm going to do this as a personal fabor to Roz, and in the name of scientific research, open and honest inquiry, and surveys. Caveats: 1.) These appear to be amalgamated faces composed of the broadly representative features of each people-group, so my exclusion of any should be taken as indication that I find the generalized features less attractive, not as a total exclusion of females from that group from my consideration. 2.) I don't want 4 wives. But I'll pick and rank by perceived attractiveness anyway. I'll start with excess picks and then work my way down to fitting within the rules. First glance: Above line; Martinican, Cape Verdean, Fula, Réunionnaise, Tunisian, Georgian, Armenian, Buryat. Below line; Bashkir, Chechen, German, French, Belarussian, Russian, Finn. Elimination phase to follow when I have some time to edit this post. Elimination round 1: Above the line: Fula and Cape Verdean have to go, because I just don't have that much enthusiam compared to Martinican. Tunisian, because I think, like the Cape Verdean, the face feels just a little too long for me. Buryat, sorry, you're cute, but I just can't keep all of you. Below the line: French (too angular on the face) Belarussian (heroin waif face) and I guess Bashkir have to go... Remaining contenders: Above line; Martinican, Réunionnaise, Armenian, Georgian. Below line: Chechen, German, Russian, Finn Final picks Eliminations: Réunionnaise, with sadness...but that face just reminds me of so many hot-blooded positives AND negatives. Armenian, because, well...look one to the right. Chechen, I guess because German appeals more, and Finn, because Russian appeals more. It is pretty close between Russian and Chechen though. Final standings 1.) Georgian. Easily. Absolutely. Just wow, great. Yeah. 2.) German. Standard pretty, imo. 3.) Martinican. Interesting, different, I like the features. Eyes, lips and proportions are all appealing. 4.) Russian. Somehow, this face just doesn't have it for me as much. Narrower chin, wider at too, maybe? Am male Reasons are listed above.
