Spokesperson for MoD announces the adoption of new small arms.
(^ Current configuration CR1A1 Auto Loading Rifle)
The CR1A1 Auto Loading Rifle(7.62x51mmNATO), which has been the back bone of Ceresian Forces for close to 60 years, will receive a facelift from its traditional wood furniture to black polymer furniture. The beloved battle rifle has proven itself reliable and capable and the overwhelming support given by current and former servicemen & women have ensured its continued service with the Ceresian Armed Forces.

The Royal Arms & Ordnance did, however, approve and recommend for adoption two other new small arms, which the Ministry of Defense has adopted.
Recognizing the change of battlefield conditions with more deployments to heavily Urbanized zones abroad, the Ministry decided to adopt a new intermediate cartridge and rifle to fire it. After reviewing and testing many designs, Royal Arms and Ordnance, settled on the 7.62x39mm cartridge and the Finnish RK-95 Assault rifle.

After licensing was secured, the Ministry of Defense adopted the weapon under the designation CR95A and mass production and stockpiling of the new ammunition had been put into motion as well as the production of the rifle itself.
The CR95A will first and primarily be issued to Special Forces units, although after enough rifles are produced it will be issued to troops deploying to urbanized areas on peace keeping missions and anti terrorism operations.
Ceresian forces will also be getting a new General Purpose Machine Gun. After being subjected to arduous testing and abuse, the Polish UKM-2000 came out on top of all other designs and After licensing was secured from our Polish friends, the UKM-2000 will be adopted with little change, as Ceresian Machine Gun, M21A1.
The M21A1 will be massed produced and gradually replace the M69A2, which was a Licensed and improved copy of the Stoner M69W that served Ceresian forces for close to 50 years.
Initially the Royal Arms and Ordnance loved the original PKM design which was also submitted, but adoption would have meant that an entirely new cartridge would have to be adopted and mass produced and this would create logistical issues since Ceresian forces have been standardized on the 7.62x51mm NATO round for close to 65 years. Thus the Polish UKM-2000 presented the solution. A PKM machine gun that was made to utilize 7.62NATO and the M13 disintegrating belt links that are already in plentiful supply.

Mass Production of the new weapons have already begun and the phase out of the M69 GPMG will begin in batches with QRF units, Special Forces, and Elite Infantry units to receive the first batches. The Stoner M69s will be shipped to Home Guard Armories and used as a reserve weapon.
