Vote results ratified, council head elections, Sjöberg Referendum

GBN-           The National Assembly confirmed and officiated the results of the council elections. The new National Assembly was previously elected on the fall equinox, and sworn in on new year’s day. This crucial last step in the elections of council members marks the final confirmation before the newly elected members are sworn in on the summer solstice.

           In other news, the polls to elected the head council member nationally will begin at 13:00 Garlendan Central Time (GCT +1) 21st of June after the swearing in ceremony, and end at 20:00 on the 22nd of June. As a reminder, the national vote is ranked choice voting, where members are eliminated and secondary vote are properly distribute, until we have a winner of over 50%.

           Finally, for your daily news headlines, the Sjöberg Referendum, on which the country will vote on a constitutional amendment on a possible name change, is still scheduled for the 18th of March, upon which the amendment will require two-thirds of the national vote in order to pass.
