"I'm losing my essential oils," one elderly woman said.
Today, King Sten has decided to formally lease the Tauk-Sic oil fields to oil giant Petrol Incorporated. This comes with a massive government-wide shift towards globalization on an economic front and isolation on a political front. Blue Gas, the company that used to have drilling rights in the Tauk-Sic region, have criticized the move as "an attempt to privatize the profits for benefit of the king himself." Blue Gas is losing business very rapidly as their gas stations have been out of gas for weeks now, after their drilling rights were halted a month ago.
Sten's administration has made many changes in policy today, impacting most people in the nation. The changes have been feared by many of Sten's most vocal critics for years, but only in this time of crisis has the government been able to make all of the changes with little repercussion. Freedom and personal rights have been drastically reduced, as analysts fear the country is being driven towards authoritarianism.
